Maison d’Orient is the latest of Hanoi «Hotels of Charm and Character ». Opened in March 2013, it benefits from an exceptional location in the heart of Old Hanoi, 2-mn walking distance from St Joseph Cathedral and 5 mn from Hoan Kiem Lake.

Even better, it is not located on a busy noisy street, but at the end of a small dead-end lane paved with large red tiles, which ensures to its clients total quietness day and night.

Around the hotel are numerous restaurants, including the famous Vietnamese establishment Madame Hien, Petit Bruxelles, Salsa, Marilyn and Mediterraneo, all within 5 mn walking distance.

The small street where the hotel is located, Ngo Huyen, has an interesting history : it was part of the hamlet of Tien Hi and led to the Communal House (The name
Ngo Huyen means «Street of the Commune»). In the 19th century, a temple was built to honour a Vietnamese fighter against the French, but it has been destroyed.
